Human factors is the study of how people interact with their environment — how a driver responds to what appears ahead, how a pedestrian reads a walkway, whether a warning does the work it was supposed to do.
Our engineers have published on driver response to slow and stopped lead vehicles, eye glance behavior, timed-exposure nighttime recognition, and closing-speed judgment from taillight spacing. We apply that literature and the naturalistic driving datasets behind it to a wide range of complex real-world incidents.
